I recently watched the movie "Rango". This movie is about a lonely, pet lizard who finds himself alone in the desert, facing the life he had stuffed out of his authentic home. He finds a town, "Dirt" that is in huge trouble; there is no water. He makes up a few lies about himself, seeing a chance to finally be someone. He becomes the town's hero until a villain reveals that he is nobody. And I won't spoil the ending for you. The plot reminds me of Gulliver's travels; someone looking to be somebody makes lies about themselves and becomes a hero.
Rango is an excellent movie with an exceptional plot, but little kids that don't really listen to the dialog might not understand the story behind the movie, although there are some comedic parts that kids will roll on their stomachs laughing at.
So really, Rango is put in the wrong category. It's not really a comedy; just an Action/adventure that the directors threw some little comedy bits into.
Children won't really get the story; but they'll laugh at it.
Final Scores;
Plot;8.5
A classic plot lies behind Rango, but little kids that the movie was intended for won't really get it. However, a little plot twist makes in exciting for everyone.
Voice Acting and Music;9
The music always fits the scene, and you'll probably be humming the credit song for awhile. The voice acting is well done,too. You'll believe every minute of it.
Looks;9.5
All the scenes are crisp, colorful and lovely.
