Call Of Duty; Modern Warfare 3
People Love to hate the Call of Duty series. But they don't know what they're missing.
Call Of Duty; Modern Warfare 3 (usually referred to as MW3) is the sequel to the best-selling Call Of Duty; Modern warfare 2. Let's start off with the Campaign.
The campaign's excellent gameplay style returns, bringing back the "Cover,Flank, Move up" style. It is extremely fun, and addicting as the player advances through the storyline in 15 missions. The storyline is a little hard to follow, but If you pay attention well enough and have subtitles turned on, you'll catch on. I highly recommend learning the COD4 and MW2 Storylines beforehand, though. The engine, although older than it's competitors, still runs fine and smooth at 60 Frames per second. Each mission is different, with a different objective, different gun, and sometimes even a different player. The graphics are good and crisp, nothing that will make your eyes pop out of your head, but some scenes and lighting effects look really cool. The music was very upgraded from previous games, now it sounds like something you would hear in a Transformers movie or Avatar. The Music always fits into the scene. The Shouting of people and blasting of rounds can get a little annoying, but you will have to get used to that if you are playing a COD Game.
Now Special Ops; Special operations is a part of the game that includes Co-op Missions and survival mode. They can each be played in Single Player, but Co-op is what makes it even more fun. The Graphics in Spec Ops, for some reason, seem to be better than Campaign and Multiplayer's, but not by a lot. The AI system is very well designed, and survival mode is insanely addictive. There really isn't that much music going on in Spec Ops- perhaps it wasn't felt needed because players wouldn't be really listening when they were fighting Juggernauts or running the training course. Unlike Campaign, Spec ops is infinetly playable, and never ends.
And Finally; Multiplayer. Mutliplayer has always been the key to the series. Multiplayer is very similar to MW2, except for the new guns, maps, and modes. The gameplay feels a lot more fair and faster, but there is still things like Campers and Rushers that make you go nuts. The maps are OK, I personally liked the MW2 maps better, but that's just me. The guns are perfectly chosen, with more than one for every playing style and everyone has a favorite. Some guns are overpowered, Such as the Type 95 or UMP45. I really hope those will be patched to make the game more fair. The graphics in Multiplayer are nothing special, but It defiantly isn't anything below average.
Summary: MW3 is a great addition to the series. After the player completes the hard-to-follow campaign, they still have the Special Ops and Mutliplayer to hop onto whenever. Mutliplayer is still aggravating, but overall improved from MW2, and is probably the best yet, although there are still some faults. The Graphics are nothing special, except for those really "Wow" moments in the Campaign.
Although people love to hate it, MW3 is a great game and perhaps the Best in the series.
