Here are the big headlines for today's Funkaneer Music Awards.

• Longevity records that just two months ago were ludicrous are now a reality. The previous three week slump [many songs that left the charts after 3 weeks - none had made a 4th week] is now a distant memory. We have songs going for a 4th week ["Faith"], 5th week ["Heart Shaped Box" and "Barely Breathing"], 6th week ["Smells Like Teen Spirit"] and our current record holer, Blind Melon's "No Rain", is going for 7 weeks on the charts.
  
• The irony to the three week slump is big for this next headlien. The Three Song Slump is where artists can't get more than 3 songs on the chart [12% of all songs on the chart - slightly less than 1/8] at one time. So far, Weird Al, Stevie Wonder, and Nirvana [twice] have made this accomplishment, but can anyone get 4 songs on at once [16% of all songs]?
  
• Lastime, Amy Winehouse became the 4th artist in Chart History to have a No. 1 debut song [the others were Moby, Weird Al Yankovic, and Nirvana]. Will this start the age of Amy Winehouse, or are we still in the age of Nirvana?

No, I just mean I'm not one of those people who go 'Save the environment!' No offense, but I don't really even care about that kind of stuff.

I never thought it was that big of a deal... I mean, look outside. Our environment is perfectly FINE, so there's nothing to crusade about.

Yeah, it's "fine" now, but who says it'll be fine 100 years from now? After all, it's predicted all the forests of the world will be GONE by 2070. That's less than 60 years from now. And about 50 years ago, there were 2-3 times more rain forests.

And you may think with the raising population (it hit 7 billion today) we'll reach 8 billion faster than ever before. If you thought that, you are wrong. It's been working backwards since 1999. It's predicted it'll take 15 more years to hit 8 billion (it took 13 years to reach 7 billion) and 19 to reach 9 billion. This is because decreasing resources are being spread up among an increasing population. For example...

If 100 billion trees were split among 4 billion people, they would each get 25 trees because 100 bil / 4 bil = 25.

On the other hand, if 30 billion trees were split among 7 billion people, they would get about 4 trees each because 30 bil / 7 bil = slightly more than 4.
